8th Pay Commission: Family Units to Rise to 4, Fitment Factor May Hit 2.4, Pension Could Reach ₹40,000
The 8th Central Pay Commission may raise family units to 4 and apply a 2.40 fitment factor, pushing pensions toward ₹40,000 and salaries up 40%. Affecting 1.15 crore central employees and pensioners, the changes take effect January 2026 with a ₹1.8 lakh crore price tag.
